Kristine W | The Power of Music | Review

Kristine W - The Power of Music
Day 3 and I still haven’t received my copy yet.  I had ordered two copies of Kristine’s “Power of Music” and have only received the copy I bought for my good friend Glenn in the UK (Don’t worry Glenn, I’ll be sending it out later today).  Anywho, after listening to it for the past couple of days, I can honestly say Kristine has completely outdone herself.  The packaging of the disc alone is worth the price, but that’s only one small part of a much bigger picture.

Kristine W is a mother, performer, artist and chameleon. Most importantly, Kristine W is a vocalist and a damn good one at that.  In a letter of appreciation to her fans, she states “The release of my last album Fly Again depicted my journey back from near death into the Land of the Living.  It was through all of you – my family, friends and fans – that I discovered healing, the importance of the power of love and The Power of Music.  This CD is dedicated to each and every one of you.”

The Power of Music is a collection of smart pop songs that have taken over two years to complete.  While primarily a dance album, it also showcases Kristine’s diversity and adaptability.  From the opening number Be Alright to the closing Meet Again , Kristine manages to captivate and uplift the heart, mind and soul.  Sprinkled with her four previous #1s Walk Away, The Boss, Never and The Look of Love the album is a multilayered production of past and future hits.

While there are several new earcandy pleasers contained in this sixteen song album, a standout and personal favorite Not So Merry Go Round is one that’s bound to garner significant attention.  If you were moved by her rendition of The Wonder of It All on her Christmas EP, expect to be knocked off your feet again.  For those looking for true love, this one’s clearly aimed at you.

Ultimately, the Power of Music is an exceptional piece of work with an assorted array of songs that are the perfect soundtrack for summer.  As I become less and less a fan of whole albums, only because many of them contain one, maybe two songs of any significance, I can honestly say that this is one purchase I do not regret and most likely neither will you.  A-
